Busy Bee

I know I've been slacking on my blogging duties but time has gotten the best of me. Besides the fact that work is have been crazy busy with installations my personal life has been even busier!  Last weekend I became the Godmother to my adorable, wonderful, amazing Nephew...

....this weekend my boyfriend and I leave for Scotland to witness our good friends get married (at a Castle!). We will then make our way to Ireland and then finish the trip in London. I don't blame you for being a wee bit jealous.
Guthrie Castle...Can't wait to see it in person!

Be back in two weeks!!

New Twist on Penguin Classics

Have you seen the amazing new book covers that Penguin Classics has come out with?! My best friend turned me on to them and of course I had to order some - they are waaaay too gorgeous not to! Plus, I know they're something I'll have forever. I got them in the mail the other day and I can't wait to figure out where I can put them on display (of course, I'll read them one day too). Look how pretty!! Can't wait to order more...

* I'm still waiting on one more pretty book that is black with a gold peacock design. (don't ask me the name of the book. ha!)

Glamping

I've organized a camping trip for this coming weekend to celebrate my birthday. It's something we used to always do when I was little and I felt like bringing it back this year (maybe it will help me feel less old?!). We are heading up to a campground just North of my hometown in Santa Barbara which makes it super convenient and a little less "rough."  I even have my family bringing up food during the day so I don't have to lug it all to the site! I thought I was creating a pretty luxurious camping trip....That is until I heard about "Glamping," or glamorous camping.  These semi-permanent tents and their furnishings are pretty freakin glamorous. Maybe for my 50th?

Bedside Pendants

What do you think about using a hanging pendant light fixture instead of your traditional bedside lamp? It's an idea that I still haven't completely accepted. I think it works in really modern spaces and edgy hotels but I don't know if I could live with it in my own bedroom.  It is however, a great space saver - talk about freeing up some room on your nightstand (so I can stack even more magazines!). If I did give it a try, I would love to use brass Moroccan pendants that give off great shadows and romantic light - kind of like these:

This black one is also super stylish...
