Darling Doormats

I was over at Matchbook Mag and they turned me on to these fabulous doormats that Garnet Hill has come out with. They greet your guests with a touch of whimsy. I absolutely love them! Now if only I had a front porch....

Naturally Beautiful

Whether it's Sisal, Seagrass, Jute, Coir or any other natural fiber....it always seems to work beautifully as floor covering.  My personal favorite is a Seagrass area rug.  Seagrass is almost never dyed but has a beautiful range of natural colors from soft green to dark camel.  It's wonderfully durable and hides dirt extremely well! A subtle, natural floor covering will allow the other items in the room to really stand out.  I hate when a carpet is too busy and your eye can't seem to focus on the furniture. So when in doubt....natural is always better! And it never goes out of style...

Beni Ouarain Rugs

You may not know what they're called or where they came from but you'd have to be living under a rock not to have seen these beautiful rugs. I'm kind of obsessed. These Moroccan creations are woven with 100% wool and all it's glory. The natural oils and texture are responsible for the uneven color and shaggy appearance - all of which make these beauties more attractive.  They can work in a highly modern space or an uber traditional one. Perfect.

Stylish Area Rugs

I'm sorry it's taken so long to post! I have been in the process of moving apartments and it's been a bit overwhelming to say the least.

We are still in the process of pulling the apartment together and finding ourselves having to rethink our old furniture layout (obviously something I love).  I finally have real hardwood floors - one of my top priorities in finding a new place! With this new luxury comes a need for area rugs - just another expense and another difficult decision.  Here are some options I looked into (although most were not in my budget!).

West Elm is one of my favorite stores. They are always hip without being too trendy and over the top.  I particularly  love these rugs that they carry.

The Rug Company carries a line designed by Suzanne Sharp. This is the Ponti Brown but it also comes in Red and a neutral silk color.

We just got a brand new CB2 in West Hollywood and It's a great new source for all things modern and affordable  (Our new dining chairs were just purchased there today!).  I love this birdwalk rug - The eye gets some relief from the pattern as it sort of "walks" off the rug.  I am loving the steely blue color too.
CB2 has teamed up with the makers of FLOR to create this new addition to the rug tile family:
