Poufs!

Poufs, Ottomans, Floor Pillows....It doesn't matter what you call them, these are a great addition to any room. They provide easy additional seating while adding a pop of color & style.

The Moroccan pouf is the quintessential accent to any room and has been on my wish list for far too long! It comes in an array of colors and the leather exterior holds up beautifully.
If you want to stray away from the Moroccan pouf and it's ever growing popularity, there are lots of other options out there. Check these out...

Happy Easter!

With Easter just a day away I wanted to share some pretty tablescapes for this fun holiday. I know it's a little late to be thinking about this sort of thing, but let it be inspiration for what you've already planned :)

Apartment Therapy's Marketplace

Have you had the chance to check out Apartment Therapy's Marketplace yet? I am always getting links to it on my facebook page but I haven't taken the time to really check it out. Boy was I missing out! The site profiles different stores - both online and in your community.  You can search by location and style or just browse the vast amount of stores showcased. They even feature sales in your area. I am hooked! Check it out.

A Little Piece of Nani

I just returned home after spending two days up in Northern California celebrating the life of my grandmother a.k.a. "Nani."  She was such a beautiful woman and lived an incredible life.  She was born in Gracias, Honduras where she grew up, attended college, and taught school before moving to San Francisco in 1948.  Soon after the move she met my grandpa, a.k.a. "Poppy" and they eventually moved into a classic Eichler home. I grew up loving her home so much that I did this post on the architect a while back.  The inside of her home still holds some classic 1950s pieces that I can't get enough of. I always told her how much I loved this particular chair in her living room and she apparently made it clear to everyone that once she died it was all mine (I honestly never tried to claim it as mine! Nor did I count her furniture before she passed). Unfortunately that time has come too soon and we find ourselves without this amazing woman in our lives. I miss her terribly.....

It may sound horrible or too soon, but I can't wait to have this little piece of Nani in my home. I will look at it everyday and be reminded of her. Her detailed stories of her childhood, making us all laugh, getting lost in her thick Spanish accent...I can hear her now....."¡Ay Dios Mio!" or "Un Besito." I wish I could give her a lil kiss right now!

Patrick Printy in Elle Decor

It feels like Christmas every time I get my Elle Decor in the mail and this month didn't disappoint. There are so many beautiful spaces but I am lusting over the home of designer Patrick Printy and partner Dan Holland. It has that relaxed yet perfectly pulled together look that I am so drawn to. I scanned some of my favorite images but I suggest you pick up a copy of the mag in order to see them in all their beauty!

Feeling Blue

I'm sitting here racking my brain on what to post and I can't seem to muster up any energy to talk about design.  I recently lost a dear loved one and I'm feeling a bit blue....so why not be completely cheesy and share my collection of Blue rooms?!

Vertical Wall Gardens

So my mom has this hideous cinder block wall all along her back yard and she's finally decided to do something about it! Or so she says...but since she's on a budget we have to figure out a cost effective way to hide the ugliness.  During our trip to France last summer we saw a lot of vertical gardens and absolutely fell in love with the idea.  So why not bring it into her home? I've been doing some research and found a ton of inspirations out there. So pretty!

Walls of Glass

My apartment has one wall that is all glass (a sliding glass door and windows on either side) - I think it's my favorite part about the space. It completely opens up the room and brings the outside in.  Too bad it doesn't look as chic as it does in these homes...

Happy Friday!

It's been a loooong, exauhsting week. I won't bore you with the details but some sh** has gone down at work and there have been lots of changes! I think it's all happening for the better and I'm excited about what the future holds. But until it all gets sorted out I want to focus on all things beautiful. This picture has always brought a smile to my face. Isn't it dreamy?! If anyone knows where it's from let me know...

Office in a Closet

Almost every household has a computer and the need for a space to stash bills and other paper junk BUT not every household has space for an office! So why not jump on the bandwagon and create a workspace in your closet? It's actually kind of genius - all the cords, mess and headache can be hidden behind a simple closed door.  Check these out for inspiration...

Home Goods Happy

I have to share my new found love for Home Goods.  I always thought it only consisted of cheesy trinkets and fake flowers (which it does) but it's so much better than that! I was in the market for some new table lamps and I found exactly what I needed at the local store.  At $50 bucks a piece I couldn't be happier!
Our new bedside lamps! The only thing I hate about these are the large, bulky finials.  Luckily I had simple brass finials that matched the shade hardware and swapped them out.
I didn't have a need for this lamp but I really wanted to take it home!
The lamp that now resides in my living room.
