Have you heard the term wabi-sabi and wondered what the hell does that mean?! Well I did.....But now that I understand its meaning I am 100% all about wabi-sabi! It's basically the idea of finding beauty in imperfection. "It values simplicity, uncluttered, underplayed and modest surroundings."
There's nothing I hate more than a perfectly pulled together room where everything looks like it belongs together. It just doesn't feel natural. A home should look like someone actually lives there! Fabrics don't need to perfectly coordinate, tables don't need to be flawless and chairs don't need to match. Most importantly, a home should be a reflection of the owner - objects that have meaning should take center stage.
To demonstrate the idea behind wabi-sabi, take a look at the ridiculously beautiful home of Commune designer Pamela Shamshiri featured in the current issue of House Beautiful.
I love these pics and your blog!
