Fantasizing about Fall

The weather has been so miserably hot lately that I can't stop dreaming about Fall....
I long for days of boots, scarves and jackets.
I wouldn't mind having a living room like this to cozy up in either.
Is that too much to ask??

Eye Candy

My latest dose of eye candy seen around town...

In LOVE with this set up at Elizabeth Eakins

Spindle four post bed. A classic that I would love to curl up in.
Another never fail classic - the Fiddle Leaf Ficus (in an amazing pot).
Sleek industrial swing arm wall sconce.
(All three seen @ LA Kneedler Showroom)

Two little love birds.

Wedding Flashback!

I just received this little (amazing) wedding video from the lovely and talented Chach Hernandez.
Paul and I had no intentions of hiring a videographer for our wedding.
We just didn't think it was necessary.

Luckily our photographer had asked if his friend could tag along to shoot video of the wedding in order to build his portfolio. We casually said said "sure. why not."
Might be nice to have some footage here and there...

All I can say is...I'm SO glad we did!! This isn't your mother's wedding video.
This is artistic, fun, and something we will always cherish.  Brings me right back to that day.

Thanks Chach!!

I also want to give out a long overdue thank you to our friend and wedding planner Shelley Eschleman of Simply Santa Barbara Events.  Looking at the set-up on this video reminds me that she was there orchestrating everything while i was primping. Couldn't have done it without her!

Lonny Mag: Schwartz & Bender

I just finished drooling over the most recent issue of Lonny Magazine
and I have fallen in love with the home of Kristi and Chris Bender!

Designed by Wendy Schwartz (now partnered with Kristi), the home has a fun quirky attitude and doesn't take itself too seriously.  Yet it all comes together seamlessly!
Love. Love. Love.

Box Re-use

I finally got around to organizing the crafty mess left behind from our wedding and came across these extra kraft boxes intended for candle favors.
Since they were already stamped with our "logo." I didn't want to use them in the future.

"Oh hey, here's a gift in this box with our love birds on it." Kinda cheesy.
Sooo....

I just cut along each fold to create rectangles and punched a hole in the top.  Tied a little string and VoilĂ ! Gift Tags! How's that for a complicated DIY?

Eye Candy

For the past week I've been working out of the office nonstop
Pick up a knob here, a light bulb there, shop this fabric....oh and that fabric!
It's exhausting to say the least (especially in this nasty heat).

The only thing that keeps me going is the constant eye candy all around.

Here's what caught my eye this week....

Colorful baskets and parsons desk from West Elm

Insane wall hangings that look something like an African Juju hat &
Alison Berger pendants via Holly Hunt

Always gorgeous prints by Galbraith & Paul  & stunning pendant light via Thomas Lavin

Fun fabrics from Schumacher

Wedding Details

We just received the rest of our wedding photos!!!!
I thought I'd take a moment and share some of the design details from the big day.

Once again a BIG thank you goes out to our amazing photographer Montana Dennis & his mad skills with the camera. These images will last a lifetime and he did an unbelievable job capturing the day.

My gorgeous childhood church - Saint Barbara Greek Orthodox Church.
I feel blessed to have such a gorgeous space to use.  You really do feel like you are in Greece!

Surprise wedding day gift from my love.  I now wear it with my wedding band on the right hand (you wear your wedding ring on your right hand in the Greek Orthodox tradition)

Escort cards display - I used white canvases with different ribbons strung across and simply slipped the cards in alphabetically.

My labor of love, a.k.a. photo booth backdrop. DIY found here.

I hate going to a wedding and having to choose a side to sit on. What if you are friends with both the bride and groom?! I created this little sign to allow for a more casual seating arrangement.

Greek Orthodox wedding ceremonies are notoriously long and steeped in a lot of history and tradition.  I wanted our guests to understand what was taking place and feel like a part of the ceremony.
These programs answered questions like...why are they circling the table three times? And what is the priest mumbling?!

Our ring bearer pillow. Carried by our adorable nephew....

Shout out to our florist who created the beautiful arrangements (I'm partial to my bouquet). Eileen with Grass Roots took my vision and nailed it!

Our version of a guest book. Each guest signed a heart and it is now a piece of art for our home.

The linens took a cue from my dress. I've always had a soft spot for embroidered swiss dots...

Thankfully our reception was held inside. The wind was OUT OF CONTROL that day!! I would have liked a few more lanterns to complete my vision but you can't control everything...

Not only was the cake absolutely gorgeous it was one of the best tasting cakes EVER.  We love Robyn from Robyn Loves Cake. Perfection.

And now a few of my favorite shots from the day.....
